State of the Show
Alright folks, we’ve finally got some solid-ish news about the future of Dead Gentlemen Presents. You probably won’t like all of it, but stick with us. It gets better.
DG Presents started with big plans. This was going to be our Next Big Thing. Teams of producers would be churning out thirteen bi-monthly episodes with paying sponsors. We’d release low-resolution episodes for free and offer high-resolution downloads for a buck from the DG store. And at the end of the season, we’d compile all the episodes, plus special features and a bonus episode and bundle it all into a DVD. Unfortunately, things don’t always work out the way we plan. From a rushed first episode (due to the release of the Video iPod), to an overly extended break after the holidays, to increasing delays to the completion of Revamping Doyle, things just haven’t gone as smoothly as we’ve hoped. Which brings me to the news you probably don’t want to hear…
Episode 07 has been scrapped. Consider Episode 06 to be the Season One finale. At this point, we’ve kept our fans waiting far too long, and it’s not fair to keep baiting you along with unfulfilled promises. Season One was never quite the show we wanted it to be, but we did learn a lot from it. Stuff like “Improv is funnier in person” and “Revamping Doyle is cursed to forever remain incomplete”. Hopefully, this new knowledge will help us in the future of DG Presents.
And what, you ask, is the future of DG Presents?
For the past few months, we’ve had a group of incredibly talented writers working on content for Season Two. Really great stuff so far. We’ve got appearances from old friends, some great new characters, and plenty of the good old DG randomness you’ve come to expect. In Season Two, two main things are going to change about the show. First, we’re going to be expanding the segments with Don the Announcer. His appearances will go from throwaway non sequiturs to full-blown storylines that interweave with the other content in the show. And speaking of the other content, while we made some minor moves in this direction with the first season, each episode of Season Two will be built around a central theme. What’s that mean? Well…I don’t want to give everything away.
So that’s where we stand. When is DG Presents coming back? There’s just no way to tell at this point. But there’s a simple way to stay up to date on what’s going on with the show. Just keep visiting this site! The episodes will all still be available, but in the coming weeks the site is going to be changing into the DG Presents Development Blog. Take a little peek behind the scenes, meet the new writing team, and keep tabs on where we are in the development process every step of the way.
So anyway, sorry we don’t have better news, folks. But like I said, stick around. It’s about to get interesting!

It’s about time for a State Of The Year post. Whilst we await the release of Gamers DC and (at some point) Gamers II, what is happening over in Washington?

I’m looking forward to more of anything. Still trying to convince the husband to get the remastered Gamers edition.
Any chance Gamers 2 could come to DVD soon?
I’ll take crumbs. You guys are hilarious.

A lot of us, including me here way out in Thailand, would LOVE to see more of the “Syphilitic Ninja Vampires.” Could you please have them come back, if they haven’t disappeared in a cloud of nasty smoke or something?
