Increased Hits & Slower Downloads
Thanks for stopping by DeadGentlemenPresents.com! We’re getting a lot of traffic today and have had a few reports of people have issues with very slow downloads. If you’re having problems getting the first episode, please leave a quick note in this post’s comments to help us get a better sense of the extent of the slowdown. (It’s also OK to let us know that you got it and that everything worked great!)
In the meantime, we’re working on setting up mirrors of the first episode at a few other sites. We’ll work on having those available shortly and full links will be provided. Additionally, we’re aiming to have a non-syndicated Windows Media Viewer version of the episode available within a day or two for those of you who dislike iTunes or Quicktime 7.

I can download the file just fine. It appears corrupted each time I try to view it. I am sad.

Make sure you have Quicktime 7.0
Also, it also works just fine if you download it through iTunes 6.0

I love the fact that you have this video podcast now - could you please please please please pretty please release an ipod ready version of it so I can load it on my new video ready iPod?

This version ought to be iPod ready; it’s been encoded in h.264.
Unfortunately, we don’t have a video iPod handy to test it. Have you tried loading it and found that it didn’t work? If so, I can go back and toy with the encoding settings.

I will shortly be re-encoding Episode 01 into iPod format. Episode 02 should work already.

episode 2 and 3 work - episode 4 is too big. Requirements for iPod video (just FYI) are:
H264 and AAC 128 or 160
320×240 (or less in either dimension)
Or MP4 and AAC
480×480 or less
I shoulda checked back sooner, darnit.
